Every bride needs to feel inspired when coming up with a creative concept for their wedding day, here’s some advice from Lovebird Weddings:

It can easily be overwhelming when you see amazing images on Instagram and Pinterest…and so many different styles…and you only have one chance to get it right…it can often be a really stressful part of your wedding planning.

The good news is, you don’t have to do it alone.

Wedding stylists are professionals who spend each and every day of their working lives coming up with creative concepts for their clients. As the owner of one of these companies, I can pretty much guarantee that we all start from the same place. We want to know about what makes you two lovebirds unique.  That’s how we find out how to create a concept that not only appeals to you, but actually reflects your personalities, and a natural result of this, is going to be a much more fun and enjoyable wedding day.

So, when you decide to employ a wedding stylist, come armed with some of these items, as these things will give us a really good idea of your style.

• An image of your GOWN. So much begins with the gown, and that is one really big statement about you, and choosing a gown that reflects your personality will ensure you feel comfortable and amazing all day. We’re always so excited after we see the gown because we will want to create a design that absolutely complements your aisle style!
• Write down a few points on what you two do or have done, that MAKE YOU UNIQUE. Maybe you play chess together, maybe you took a year off and backpacked to Europe. Maybe you found each other through your pooches…whatever it is, we want to know! Don’t be afraid to be yourself. The best weddings are the ones that really pick up on the essence of you.
• Collate your FAVOURITE WEDDING IMAGES. Some people love pinterest, and save hundreds of images…others have just one image that encapsulates their style. It doesn’t matter what it is, but one image is always better than none. It’s very hard for us to understand what your “elegant” looks like, so bringing images helps us interpret your perception of different words.
• Think of ONE PART OF YOUR DAY that you would like to be the most MEMORABLE – this is going to be your focal point…and generally we like to have 2-3 of these throughout a wedding day.  These are the things we put most of our budget into, and are the parts of your day that you want guests to drool over! Use these focal points cleverly to reflect your personal style.
• Understand your BUDGET.  Once we know what you want to spend, we will be able to create those focal points that make the most of your budget. If you tell us that you don’t have a budget, then we will go all out…but very rarely do clients not have a budget. Think about it realistically. And if you’re having problems setting a budget, hire a wedding planner that will be able to guide you from the very beginning based on what you want to achieve for your day.
